THE FIVE PRISONS
OF THE MODERN HUMAN

Once a bridge to the infinite,
now a fear factory.

A cosmic truth compressed into a cartoon god,
weaponized to keep people obedient,
guilty, afraid, and predictable.

2. Mass Media Propaganda in 4K resolution.

Information warfare disguised as entertainment.

A digital leash around the minds of billions.

3. Global Corporations Modern gods without a face.

They shape culture, language, attention spans,
desires, and “truth” through nothing but profit algorithms.

4. Public Education Not schooling, conditioning.

A system designed to mass produce conformity
while calling it “intelligence.

5. Government Institutions The velvet cage.

You are free as long as you obey every rule
written by people you did not choose,
serving interests you will never see.

Every one of these systems has one job.

To shrink human perception to the smallest, safest,
most manageable version possible,
and collectively, they have done it with terrifying success.

THE CORE DELUSION OF THIS AGE
People genuinely think
they know how reality works.

They believe their religion is the religion.

Their worldview is the truth.

Their government is the authority.

Their moment in history is the pinnacle.

It would almost be funny if it were not so tragic,
because here is the part almost no one considers.

Humanity has existed on this planet
for MILLIONS of years.

Entire epochs.

Entire cultures.

Entire cosmologies.

Entire understandings of reality,
have lived, thrived, died, and vanished.

Belief systems have not just ‘shifted’.

They have been completely erased and

rewritten thousands of times.

When someone in 2025
stands on their digital soapbox acting
like they have got the universe figured out,

I offer a gentle,
but devastating truth.

Unless you physically walked this earth
across millions of years, you do not know
a damn thing for certain.

Do not argue with me.

Argue with time.

THIS CIVILIZATION
IS SPIRITUALLY ILLITERATE

We have mistaken information for wisdom.

We have mistaken algorithms for reality.

We have mistaken screens for experience.

We have mistaken belief for truth.

We are drowning in data yet starved of
actual understanding.

We are overstimulated but under awakened.

We are connected globally but lost internally.

This era did not lose its way.

It never knew the way to begin with.

THE ARROGANCE OF THE BLIND
Modern humanity laughs at the ancients,
the ones who built perfect stone structures
aligned to impossible star patterns.

The ones who mapped mathematics we are still rediscovering.

The ones who understood cycles
we have forgotten even existed.

Meanwhile we cannot even function without a charger,
a WiFi signal, a GPS, a dopamine notification

Yet we call ourselves
‘advanced’.

This is not advancement.

This is dependency disguised as intelligence.

WHAT HAPPENS
WHEN YOU REMEMBER

The moment you step outside the manufactured
worldview of this era, everything shatters.

The religions become too small.

The governments become too weak.

The narratives become too childish.

The media becomes too transparent.

The systems become too shallow.

You realize this civilization is not enlightened.

It is lobotomized.

so seamless people call it “normal”.

THE TRUTH

People who REMEMBER.

Because the moment you remember
your origin is not this civilization,
this civilization loses its power over you.

You stop kneeling.

You stop believing.

You stop swallowing the narratives

the manipulation, the lies, the false gods,
the fake freedoms, the engineered beliefs,
the controlled illusions.

Once you see it, you can never go back.

That is what they fear.

THE DETONATION

This era is not enlightened.

It is not awake.

It is not evolved.

It is simply loud.

Loud and terrified of truth.

Loud and insecure about its own ignorance.

Loud and desperate to keep you asleep.

Here is the part they did not see coming.

Some of us woke up anyway,
and once even one human remembers the truth,
the whole illusion starts to crumble.

History has never been changed by the obedient.

It has only been changed by
the ones who stood up and said,
“I REMEMBER”.

Plato’s allegory of the cave begins with people who have never seen anything but shadows.

They sit facing a wall, chained in place.

Behind them is a fire.

Between the fire and their backs, a walkway—where figures pass with objects held high.

The fire casts shadows forward, and those shadows become the only world the prisoners know.

One is released.

He turns, sees the fire, and at first, the light blinds him.

But as his eyes adjust, he begins to see what he had missed—the walkway, the objects, and eventually, the sun beyond the cave.

And with it, a world that had always been there, just out of reach.

When he returns to tell the others, they reject him.

Some would rather stay chained than lose the certainty of the wall.

The cave was never just a symbol for ignorance.

It was a structure.

A constructed reality.

And Plato was not describing an illusion
he was describing a system.

Yes, sometimes it’s a curse
and not always a blessing to be awake.

Awakening is the most liberating, alienating, excruciating,
empowering, lonely, confusing, freeing, frightening, expansive journey.

If you find yourself struggling as you
try to process all this insanity, you are not alone.

No one talks about the darkness
that accompanies awakening or the GRIEF.

Not only grieving the life and illusions
you once had but the realization that
almost everything you thought
you once knew is a LIE.

The beliefs you’ve held, people you’ve trusted,
principles you were taught – ALL LIES.

Shattering
long-established illusions
is RARELY an
enjoyable experience.

There is a considerable amount of discomfort
that comes with growth, and the
grieving process doesn’t stop there.

With these newfound realizations,
you then find yourself grieving all over again.

Grieving the loss of many relationships
with people who just don’t “get it”.

Feeling alone; being ridiculed and shamed,
not only by the masses but for many of you,
your very own family and friends too.

Feeling like you no longer have much in common
with the people you are surrounded by.

Struggling with carrying on bullshit,
shallow conversations that lack substance
with those who are still fast asleep.

Even feeling disconnected from
your entire support system
because they can’t see what you see.

Some even grieve the loss of their ignorance
because “ignorance is bliss” and reality is harsh.

Awakening can be a lonely road,
and you will often find yourself journeying alone.

There is no way to sugar-coat it –
awakening to the realities of this world is brutal.

It will have you running through
the entire gamut of human emotions.

You have to master the art of
diving down the darkest of rabbit holes
only to come out and still function in daily life
and that’s a skill people don’t talk about enough.

disconnected from family and friends.

It’s as though they exist in another world.

Know you are not alone, and not only are you not alone.

You have an entire tribe standing with you.

We may be separated by miles,
but we are DEEPLY connected;
in purpose and in spirit.

People have become conditioned and brainwashed, through years—sometimes generations—of indoctrination, to accept the world as it is presented to them.

To unplug from this system is to face a harsh, sometimes unbearable, reality that everything they thought was real is, in fact, a lie.

This requires courage, a willingness to embrace discomfort, and most importantly, the readiness to let go of what one thought to be the truth.

Morpheus also knew that those still plugged into the system are often its most ardent defenders.

Why?

Because the system
and it’s brainwashing
has become their identity.

Their sense of self, their beliefs, their values—all are tied to the illusions and constructs of that system.

To threaten it is to threaten everything they hold dear.

For many, it is easier to defend the system than to confront the possibility that they have been deceived.

Defending the system:
is a learned
psychological reaction
and is not natural.

When Morpheus says that “many will fight to protect it,” he’s speaking to a psychological truth: cognitive dissonance.

When presented with information that contradicts deeply held beliefs, people experience discomfort.

Instead of questioning the belief or the system itself, they will often reject the new information to protect their ego and sense of security.

This is why people who are still plugged into the system will vehemently defend it, even when evidence suggests that it is corrupt, failing, or based on lies.

For those who are not ready to unplug, the system represents safety, order, and familiarity.

It’s the comfortable prison of the mind, and to face the truth would mean losing not only this sense of safety but also their role within the system.

The Illusion provides them with structure and predictability, and they will fight to preserve it, even at the cost of their freedom and truth.

Clinging to the Illusion
of today’s world is born
from being taught to be fearful
of any alternative.

In today’s world, this concept is strikingly relevant.

The system can represent various elements of modern society—political ideologies, economic structures, societal norms, and even religious dogma.

Those who cling to the system often do so out of fear, ignorance, or a desire for control.

The system, through media, education, and government institutions, programs people from an early age to accept it as reality.

It offers a narrative: if you work hard, follow the rules, and accept your place within it, you will succeed, be happy, and fulfilled.

But we know
this is not true for everyone

The awakening process requires breaking away from these narratives and questioning the very foundation of what is accepted as truth.

This is the essence of Hermeticism—the practice of questioning the surface to find the deeper truths hidden beneath.

However, those who cling to the system will often ridicule, attack, or ostracize anyone who dares question its authority. Why? Because to question it is to question the very fabric of their own reality.

Unplugging:
A difficult but necessary process
that most are incapable of.

Unplugging from the system, much like in The Matrix, is a metaphor for waking up from the collective dream that has been sold to the masses.

It’s about peeling back the layers of illusion to see the world as it truly is, rather than how we’ve been told to see it.

Yet, this process is not easy
for many, impossible.

It involves dismantling years of conditioning and societal programming. It means facing uncomfortable truths about the world and, more importantly, about ourselves.

For those ready to unplug, the journey is one of liberation—of freedom from the mental and spiritual bondage that the system imposes.

But for many others, the fear of the unknown, the discomfort of confronting deep-seated beliefs, and the pain of letting go of long-held illusions are too overwhelming.

The Nature of the Matrix
as a Metaphor for Control

In the context of Hermetics, the system represents more than just societal control—it represents the materialistic, limited, and external focus that keeps people trapped in ignorance of their true nature as divine consciousness.

The system fosters division,
fear, and separation

It’s how it survives
and feeds itself

It teaches people to focus on external validation, material success, and power over others.

But in truth, as Hermetics teaches, we are all connected, and the real power lies in knowing and mastering the self.

To unplug from the system means to transcend these lower, ego-driven desires and awaken to the deeper spiritual truths that govern the universe.

It’s about recognizing that the external world is but a reflection of the internal state.

When we unplug, we reclaim our sovereignty and align ourselves with the higher principles of wisdom, truth, and love.

But those who cling to the system remain blind to this truth, often because the system rewards conformity and punishes deviation.

They see anyone who unplugs as a threat, not because those individuals are dangerous, but because they challenge the false security the system provides.

Defending the Illusion:
The role of fear

The strongest weapon of the system is fear—fear of the unknown, fear of losing status, fear of being wrong.

This fear causes people to defend the illusion vehemently.

They project this fear outward, attacking anyone who threatens to disrupt the illusion they’ve built their lives upon.

This is why Morpheus says they will fight to protect it.

They are not fighting for the system because they believe in it—they fight because they fear what lies beyond it.

They fear the truth
it can set them free
but they don’t want to be free.

In Hermetic philosophy, fear is rooted in ignorance, and the antidote to fear is knowledge—gnosis, the direct experience of truth.

When one begins to see beyond the Illusion, the fear starts to dissolve.

The system’s control weakens because its power lies in keeping people in the dark, disconnected from their true essence.

Those who cling to it do so not because the system serves them, but because they do not know who they are without it.

Moving beyond the system

For those who have unplugged or are in the process of doing so, it is crucial to remember that not everyone is ready.

Much like Neo, we must navigate the world with the awareness that many are still prisoners of their own minds, held captive by the Illusion.

But the task is not to force anyone to awaken; rather, it is to continue living in truth, as beacons of light, planting seeds for those who are ready to see beyond the veil.

Morpheus’s words hold an eternal truth: many are not ready to unplug because they are not ready to face the chaos of the real world, where their perceptions, beliefs, and identities must be re-examined.

And those who cling to the system will continue to defend it until they find the courage to look beyond it.
